Helena & Penny get Elizabethan on thy bottom

Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player

That struts and frets his hour upon the stage

And then is heard no more: it is a tale

Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,

Signifying nothing.

Shakespeare, MacBeth

Hello darlings, and how are you this fine winter’s day?

The strangest things have been happening in my life, and sometimes it takes something strange to inspire, and inspiration has indeed struck.

I am working on bringing you something special – a tale told by an idiot perhaps, but it’s going to be a lot of fun nonetheless. I have a story to tell, and in true dilettante fashion, I am dabbling in something new — I’m writing it as a Shakespearean style play. But trust me, darlings, it will still have the wit and irreverence you’ve come to expect from thy favourite dilettante and that lovable rogue, the Countess Penelope of Arcadia.

I’m planning on creating an e-book out of this one, and will be giving it away as a prize for the #WhereIsHelena campaign (CLICK THE LINK FOR DETAILS)

Also, help me meet my goal of 100 fans on Pubslush. It only takes a minute and will help me keep you in the loop with all the news regarding the upcoming release of Memoirs of a Dilettante Volume Two. Only 26 days until the actual launch of the campaign!

  1. What a brilliant idea! I worked at the Globe Theatre a million years ago, and remember learning that they didn’t really have directors in those days, not least because everything the actors needed to know about his plays was right there in the text – stage directions and everything. Good luck!!

    • Can I also say: well done on doing so much groundwork for your pub slush campaign before it’s ready to go. i think have that many “fans” and potential backers will help exponentially to help convince people to assist. Just sayin’.

      • Thank you, Katie, and you have perfect timing – feeling a bit discouraged with response so far — but it’s early. Pubslush has been amazing — would you believe I’ve got a call with their Marketing manager scheduled next week? VERY personal service.
