As brevity is the soul of wit, I shall be brief – Shakespeare “Hamlet” Act II, Scene II
This week is a very big week for your favourite dilettante and that creepy fucker, Jessica B. Bell.
You may have been reading all about JESSICA, a collaborative project directly involving seven writers, and augmented by seven artists last week. All week long, that story continues, culminating in what will be a full length publication (with more than 50 pages of additional material) but more on that later.
Also this week, for those who have been following, CHUK, Jessica B. Bell’s serial novel, concludes, with the last two posts being Wednesday and Friday. What began on August 1st, 2013 comes to an end, and I thank you all so much for reading.
So, what’s next for me, and what’s next for Jessica?
Well, I won’t say too much. Me, I’ve finished Memoirs of a Dilettante Volume Two, and have begun preparing it for publication, all the while continuing writing for Volume Three. But Jessica and I, well, it would seem that our arrangement no longer works the way it once did. We tried sharing this space, but it really wasn’t working out. So I told her — look, it isn’t you, it’s me.
She cackled. Then flipped me the bird. Next thing I knew, she was gone.
But I’ve just found a note, stuck to the basement wall — you don’t even want to know what the adhesive was. It merely has a website link on it to a Patreon site. I took a look at it.
What is this all about, Helena?
Patreon is a way to directly support creators by becoming a patron of the arts.
This is a big step for me, and I hope that you come along and support me in this venture. I want to be able to continue to bring you quality writing, with the highest quality production possible, and I believe that this is the right direction to take at this time.
One of my goals in 2015 is to gain representation by a literary agent in order to explore more traditional publishing avenues. In the meantime, I hope you continue to support me in whatever way possible. First and foremost, keep reading, and I’ll keep writing.
